Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan have been recalled to the Indian team for the tour to Sri Lanka while Sachin Tendulkar has been rested and Ravindra Jadeja dropped.

Team India will play 5 ODIs and 1 T20in Sri Lanka in July – August 2012.

Sehwag had missed the Asia Cup due to back spasms while Zaheer and Umesh were rested after the tour to Australia.

Virat Kohli has been retained as the vice-captain and chief selector cited the need to have continuity of leadership as the reason for the decision.

Jadeja, who came in for some severe criticism for his performances in the ODI series in Australia and has been replaced by Pragyan Ojha.

Irfan and Yusuf Pathan have also been left out and there is no place for Praveen Kumar as well with Umesh Yadav also returning to side while Ashok Dinda and Vinay Kumar are the other pacers in the side.
