Olympics: Kashyap advances to quarters

Parupalli Kashyap’s good run at the London Olympics continued as he entered the quarterfinals after defeating Niluka Karunaratne from Sri Lanka in three sets 21-14, 15-21, 21-9.

Kashyap now is the first Indian men to have reached the quarterfinals stage at any Olympics.

21st ranked Parupalli defeated Tien Minh 21-9 21-14 to reach the pre-quarterfinals.
