Clarke likely to miss ODI against India

Australia captain Michael Clarke said on Friday he was unlikely to recover in time for Sunday’s tri-series one-day international against India in Brisbane.

I`ve got a little hamstring strain. It`s on the mend. It`s probably unlikely I`ll be picked for Brisbane, though,” said Clarke, who missed out of today`s ODI against Sri Lanka at the SCG.

“It`s going to be hard to watch, that`s for sure, but the boys are flying so no doubt Punter can come out and do a great job, as he has for a long time,” Clarke told.

While Clarke might miss the ODI against India, his junior teammate Mitch Marsh is likely to be ruled out for six months with lower-back stress fractures.

Marsh complained of back pain during a training session at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday and scans confirmed a stress fracture.

The 20-year-old will undergo further scans on Saturday to determine the extent of the injury but he is likely to miss the rest of the Australian season.
