Passengers to sue Costa Concordia ship owner

While the owner of the ill-fated ship Costa Concordia has blamed the ship captain for the disaster last week, those travelling on it have decided to sue the ship owner, Costa Crociere.

More than 70 passengers have joined a class action suit against the Italian ship owner.

Consumer Rights association Codacons said: “Our objective is to get each passenger at least 10,000 euro compensation for material damage and also for the fear suffered, the holidays ruined and the serious risks, endured.”

The group has been confident that its case would be heard and action would be followed.
