Shinde to be new Leader of House in Lok Sabha

Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde will now be the Leader of the House in Lok Sabha. Mr Shinde’s name was nominated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Bansal.

Mr Shinde replaces Pranab Mukherjee, who was last month elected to the highest constitutional post of President.

Mr Shinde took over as country’s Home Minister two days ago in a Cabinet reshuffle.
