Sharad Pawar slapper has now Kapil Sibal on target: IB alert

Rohini resident Harvinder Singh, who hogged headlines for slapping two high-profile politicians last year, is now planning to slap Human Resource and Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal in the name of increasing corruption and price rise.

According to sources, the Intelligence Bureau has issued a general alert that Harvinder Singh, who hit former Telecom Minister Sukhram and NCP President and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar within a span of five days last year, might now target Sibal at a public gathering.

He might be backed by some organisation to do the same, sources added.

Talking to a national daily, 27-year-old Harvinder Singh has confirmed his plans, saying he is waiting for an opportunity.

The IB has reportedly asked the Delhi Police to take precautions.

On November 19 last year, Harvinder Singh slapped and kicked Sukhram inside the premises of a Delhi court just moments after he was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment in connection with a corruption case dating back to 1996.

On November 24, Harvinder Singh broke into a group of officials and journalists and attacked Pawar after a public event in the national capital.

71-year-old Pawar, who went to a literary function at a public auditorium on Parliament Street, was caught unawares when he was slapped the local transporter.
