The Indian Institute of Technology- Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) 2012 results were declared on its official website early on Friday.
The results can be accessed on all the IIT websites. A total of 5,07,634 students appeared for the IIT-JEE 2012 that was conducted on April 8. The maximum number of applications are for IIT-JEE 2012 came from Kanpur zone followed by Madras zone. The exams were held at 1,067 centres across the country for admission to nearly 9,600 undergraduate seats in the 15 IITs.
The IIT-JEE 2012 was worth 408 marks — lower than the usual 480 — and had fewer questions to give students a chance to complete the exam. However there were no changes in the evaluation pattern. A candidate is required to score 10% in each subject and an aggregate of 35% (140 marks) to qualify.
According to media reports, Arpit Aggarwal from Delhi has topped the prestigious exam this year. Bijoy Kocjhar from Chandigarh and Nishant Kaushik from Bhilai are 2nd and 3rd respectively.
