Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Thursday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should ask P. Chidambaram to resign from the Cabinet and direct the CBI to include him and his son Karthi P. Chidambaram in the FIR in Aircel-Maxis deal case along with former minister Dayanidhi Maran.
Addressing media, Swamy said, “The prime minister should ask Chidambaram to resign from Cabinet and direct CBI to include him and his son Karthi in the FIR on Aircel-Maxis deal along with Dayanidhi Maran. I also urge you to order for a through probe on the illegal amassment of wealth by P. Chidambaram and his son from 2004…”
He threatened “to use legal recourse” if action was not taken against Chidambaram.
“I have announced the names and details of several companies where home minister’s son Karthi P. Chidambaram is a director. Within few days, on March 9, 2011, Karthi resigned from directorship from one of the company Ausbridge Holdings and Investments Private Limited, where he has more than 94 per cent share. It is because he knew I was after him,” Swamy claimed.
“I found Ausbridge Holdings has invested and has majority of shares in two companies namely: Advantage Strategic Consulting Private Limited and Kaiser Surya Samudra Resorts Private Limited. The accounts of all these companies are totally manipulated and some balance-sheets were filed even after five years,” he added.
“There is a conflict of interest. I don’t have to prove Chidambaram is involved with his son. He is,” Swamy insisted.
