Army Chief has lost mental balance: Tejinder Singh

In response to Army Chief General VK Singh’s assertion in an interview that he was offered a bribe in the Tatra-BEML deal, Lt General(retd) Tejinder Singh has stated that the Chief of Army Staff had lost his mental balance. He asked as to why the Army Chief didn’t file a police complaint against him.

He revealed that when a bribe is offered, it’s the duty of any public servant to report the matter to the police under section 39 of the CrPC. He stated that no offer of a bribe was made to Gen VK Singh. These allegations are made to serve his vested interests and the facts will come out during the course of the trial, he said.

The Army Chief had also called Lt Gen Tejinder Singh, a man with a devious mind. To which the retired Army officer replied that Gen VK Singh is at liberty to say what he wishes. He also quoted Brajesh Mishra in an interview with Karan Thapar that Gen Singh has lost his mental balance.

Lt Tejinder Singh stated that the Army Chief has made several aspersions against the Supreme Court as well that clearly indicates that he has lost his mental balance.

In an interview, Gen Singh had mentioned that he had expected more out of Defence Minister AK Antony when the controversy happened. Lt Gen Tejinder Singh stated that the Army Chief was simply trying to shift the blame to the Defence Minister now.

The Army Chief did not go to the police as there were no charges against him, the retired Army officer said.
