The AIADMK nominee Karthik Thondaiman was delcared elected in the by-election to the Pudukottai Assembly constituency.
Mr. Thondaiman secured 1,01,998 votes defeating his immediate rival N. Jahir Hussain, Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam nominee, by a margin of 71,498 votes. Mr. Jahir got 30,500 votes.
The result which included postal votes, was declared at the end of counting of 23-rd round.
