26 people were today killed after a speeding tempo rammed into their stationary bus on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. 17 people were also injured in the incident.
The bus, carrying members of a marriage party from Ghatkopar suburb of northeast Mumbai, was returning to Pune when the accident occurred near Khalapur village, officials said.
The speeding tempo rammed the bus from behind, killing many of the occupants, who were sleeping in the bus at that hour, on the spot.
