After legendary actor Rajesh Khanna’s death his palatial mansion is in the middle of bitter controversy between the Khanna clan and Kaka’s lady love.
Amid the talks doing rounds of converting Rajesh Khanna’s residence into a museum, the actor’s live-in partner Anita Advani has reportedly sent a legal notice to the Khanna clan for forcibly evicting from Aashirwad in Carter Road.
A report published in a Mumbai newspaper says, Advani, who had been staying with the actor since last eight years, sent the notice under Domestic Violence Act.
A Section 19 of the Act bars the family from ‘dispossessing or in any other manner disturbing the possession of the aggrieved person from the shared household, whether or not the respondent has a legal or equitable interest in the shared household’.
The report said that the notice was sent to Khanna family on the eve of actor’s death.
Advani sent the notice through her advocate Mridula Kadam. Kadam, however, declined to comment on the notice.
The report quoted a source as saying that Khanna family, for last one month was trying to oust Advani from Aashirwad, where she claims she has been living with actor for the last eight years that forced Advani to take the legal action.
The uneasy relations between Khanna family and Advani came out in open during Kaka’s funeral procession on Thursday when Anita was not allowed to climb into the vehicle carrying Kaka’s body.
