Bodyguard Story

The story is about a woman who disturbs her bodyguard on the phone as an anonymous caller because he is becoming an impediment in her fun and freedom. What begins playfully ends on a serious note with the woman falling in love with the guard and he too remains oblivious to the flirtation till certain time when events change the course of the story.

Bodyguard Review

Venkatesh done it perfectly as he use to do always, Trisha gives a solid performance, which gets better towards the climax. It has become a cliche of sorts to say that Prakash Raj is his usual self, and that Kota Srinivasa Rao is terrific in his role. Saloni too does her bit with ease, supported by the rest of the cast that includes Ali, Subbaraju, etc.

Venu Madhav tickles some funny bones but it is Jai Prakash Reddy, who generates more laughs even though his presence is extremely limited. However more than the actors it is the emotions towards the second half that work for the film, in spite of its visible flaws.

Bodyguard has rich production values. Bellamkonda didn’t compromise on the quality. Technical team consists of some of the best names from Tollywood. Kona Venkat’s dialogues are impressive. Thaman’s music ranks among his best works till date. Shyam K Naidu’s camera work is flawless. Editing could have been better. First half has been dragged by fifteen minutes and there are few unnecessary lags in the second half too.

Gopichand Malineni has it in him to become a bankable director. He can handle the emotions well. His command over commercial elements is visible. He should do original films rather taking up remakes.

Shyam K Naidu’s cinematography is good and the movie looked rich in each frame. Thaman’s songs are soothing and a couple of songs are shot in scenic locales, the background score elevated the scenes. The story is similar to the remake and had no big changes so is the screenplay, dialogues are amazing and special mention to Kona Venkat, also fights were choreographed well.
