Ruckus in UP assembly on Day 1

In a stormy start to the budget session, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) MLAs clashed in the state assembly in Lucknow on Monday.

The BSP MLAs shouted slogans at the well of the Lucknow Vidhan Sabha after budget session began on Monday. Leaders of the ruling Samajwadi Party and BSP shouted slogans against each other and took to the well of the House.

It was the first session of the new Vidhan Sabha with Akhilesh Yadav as Chief Minister.

The BSP MLAs created ruckus in the House, accusing SP of vendetta politics while Governor BL Joshi was addressing the assembly. The BSP blamed SP of trying to mount false cases against former chief minister and BSP supremo Mayawati by ordering investigations on various parks and memorials built during BSP regime.

The opposition also targeted the SP on deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Earlier, the BSP did not attend the all party meet called by the state government before the session.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was present in the assembly.
