Cracks appeared in Team Anna yet again as one of its key members accused another of trying to subvert the cause and even the leading anti-corruption activist, Anna Hazare, for personal gain.
In a letter to Arvind Kejriwal, Shivendra Singh Chauhan has openly accused the former revenue services officer of systematically trying to steal Hazare’s thunder by promoting himself for personal gain.
Accusing him of hijacking the Jan Lokpal movement for personal glory, Chauhan clearly referred to a conversation on May 2 where he had been asked to promote Kejriwal on micro-blogging site Twitter in a big way.
Chauhan has also claimed that the “Kaushambi office”, a reference to NGO Public Cause Research Foundation run by Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, has been deliberately downplaying Hazare’s tour of Maharashtra for a strong Lokayukta in the state.
The letter that rips through the ranks of Team Anna also states how the India Against Corruption page now only posts things Kejriwal does and downplays work by its other key members, including Kiran Bedi and Prashant Bhushan.
